EDT is the RSA's mandatory 12-lesson programme. Every first-time learner in Ireland must complete all 12 topics before sitting their test.
Pick-up from your home, college, or any of the locations below. Pat knows every test centre and every common test route in this area.
Pat is based around the Dún Laoghaire test centre on Pottery Road and has guided hundreds of learners through the routes the examiners actually use. Lessons cover hill starts on Glenageary Road, the roundabouts at Pottery Road, and the parking manoeuvres on Adelaide Street.
Foxrock pick-ups available — Pat will collect from Foxrock village, Cabinteely and Cornelscourt. The lessons cover the busy Brennanstown junctions, the N11 slip roads, and quiet residential roads ideal for nervous learners.
Pick-up from the Texaco garage on Clonkeen Road. Deansgrange and the surrounding area is excellent for learning — a mix of dual carriageway, mini-roundabouts, and the kind of estate driving the test examiner will check.
Pick-up from Killiney Shopping Centre or Tesco Ballybrack. The hilly streets around Killiney are perfect for hill-start practice and clutch control — two of the most common test failure points.
Pick-up from the Greystones Park & Ride. North Wicklow lessons combine quiet country roads with the M11 / N11 motorway practice that's now part of the EDT requirements.
All pick-up locations are subject to availability and must be confirmed with Pat before booking.

Yes — every lesson is in a dual-control manual car. You'll qualify for a full Category B manual licence, and Pat can step in via the second set of pedals if needed, so you can focus on learning rather than worrying.
Most students complete the 12 EDT lessons over 3 to 6 months, then book additional pre-test lessons closer to the test date. Pat will give you an honest assessment of when you're ready — he won't put you forward for the test before you're prepared to pass.
